Better Business Development Council's Area of Focus and Objectives
The Better Business Development Council (BBDC) works toward attracting, strengthening, retaining and expanding small business in central Brevard. The Better Business Development Council (BBDC) offers business counseling, reference materials, seminars and networking opportunities. It also serves the partnership, as well as consumers and the general public by working with the Better Business Bureau of Central Florida in the adherence to ethical business practices and addressing consumer complaints. This Council hosts the bi-annual Mega Marketplace, a unique roundtable networking event, and the Business of the Year Awards. As eighty-five percent of Chamber partners are small business, this council is one of the most active and proactive within the Chamber. Membership is open to all Partners.

Mission Statement
To strengthen and expand Central Brevard business by providing education, information, resources and facilitation of communication between businesses and consumers.

"Pledge of Excellence" - Gold Star Program
BBDC business members have made a "Pledge of Excellence" by committing to ethical business practices and to keeping a good standing with the Better Business Bureau.  BBDC members are already identified with Gold Stars next to their name in the Web Directory to identify this commitment, and will also have a Gold Star next to their name in the printed 2008 Partnership Directory.

Meeting Dates
Better Business Development Council Board of Directors meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month, at 8:00 a.m., in the Chamber's boardroom. The meeting is open to all the Better Business Development Council (BBDC) members and prospective members.

2006 Council of the Year
The Better Business Development Council was named 2006 Council of the Year at the Installation Banquet! Under the leadership of Tiffany Johnston of Progressive Document Destruction, Chairperson 2006, the BBDC had a wonderful year. Thank to Tiffany, the Board, the BBDC Members and Sandy Owens for their help in achieving this great honor.

Better Business Development Council’s (BBDC) Quarterly Networking Social - TBD
BBDC's Quarterly Social will be (date TBD), from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at (location TBD). Come see what the BBDC is all about while enjoying some tasty appetizers!  Admission is free and a cash bar will be available.

Mega Marketplace - Spring 2008
The Spring 2008 Mega Marketplace is several hours of networking with over a hundred Chamber members from around the County.  Whether you choose to “rotate” in the speed networking or decide on a table host position, you’ll want to reserve your space soon.  This event always sells out!

Business of the Year Awards
The Better Business Development Council (BBDC) will present the 20th Annual Business of the Year Banquet and Awards Ceremony in August 2008. This banquet has become one of the premier business recognition events on the Space Coast.
