Who has the best salsa recipe on the Space Coast?

If you are looking for something that will get your taste buds a jumping, come out to the 4th Annual Fiesta Brevard and enjoy live entertainment that will spice up the night with latin music, salsa dancing, games, drawings, raffles, fiesta game show, salsa contest, fiesta hat parade and contest and much, much more! The fun begins Friday, May 9th, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Cocoa Beach Oceanfront Resort in Cocoa Beach. Over $10,000 in prizes and awards were given away at Fiesta Brevard 2007! You don't want to miss your opportunity to win!

Tickets are available in advance for $10.00 or $15.00 at the door. Advanced tickets can be purchased at all participating non-profit organizations (listed below) and the Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (400 Fortenberry Road, Merritt Island). Admission includes (4) four food tickets and a cash bar will be available.

Fiesta Brevard will host a competition for the Brevard's Best Salsa. This festive event will feature individuals, groups and restaurants from our community competing with one another to determine who has the ‘best salsa’ recipe on the Space Coast. During the event, awards to be presented are the Judge’s Choice Award (all participating parties will be competing for this coveted title) and the People’s Choice Award (the winner of this award is determined ‘by the people’ the night of the event). Holding the bragging rights for 2007 Brevard's Best Salsa were Judge's Award: 1st Place Paul Wohrman, Cape Canaveral; 2nd Place Deanna Spain & Sheri Schobour, Melbourne; and 3rd Place was Alex Montminy, Community Service Council. For People's Choice the winners was: 1st Place Janet Mollica & Gabrielle Breau, Spherion Staffing, Cape Canaveral; 2nd Place Olga Martinez, Cape Canaveral; and 3rd Place was Ninette Mamczur, Redheads Martini & Cigar Bar, Port Canaveral.

Join in the festivities by creating a "Fiesta Hat" to show off during the 3rd Annual Fiesta Hat Parade & Contest. The parade and competition starts at 7:00 pm. During the festival we will announce the parade for you to join in on all the fun. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.

To join in on the "Fiesta Hat" festivities:

1. Create a “FIESTA HAT”, wear it to Fiesta Brevard, and join in the Hat Parade
2. Enter in the contest by staying at the stage area, after the parade, for judging. No pre-registering, just show up and have muy divertido (a lot of fun)!
3. 1st, 2nd, 3rd Prize Winners will all receive Certificates of Award & Bragging Rights as Fiesta Brevard’s “Fiesta Hat Contest Winners 2008”.

Fiesta Brevard is the showcase for 24 of Brevard's finest Non-Profit organizations, a truely unique and fun filled experience. Be sure to stop and visit each participating organization to play a game, win a prize or take a chance on a raffle. What ever you do, you will experience Fiesta Fun!
