Public Use of the Internet
In response to advances in technology and the changing educational, recreational and informational needs of the business community, the Cocoa Beach Area Chamber of Commerce (CBACC) provides public access to Electronic Resources and the Internet. In doing so, the CBACC does not monitor and has no control over the information accessed through the Internet and assumes responsibility only for the information provided on its home page.
The Internet is an unregulated medium. It offers access to a world of material that is personally, professionally, and culturally enriching for people of all ages. It also provides access to some materials that may be incorrect, out-of-date, incomplete, illegal and/or personally offensive to some people. Our patrons are strongly cautioned to keep in mind these factors when retrieving information from the Internet.
Choosing and Evaluating Sources
The Internet is a series of communication linkages leading to a highly diverse array of information content. CBACC patrons use it at their own risk. The CBACC does not limit access to materials or attempt to protect users from materials some individuals may find offensive. In choosing sources to link to its home pages, the CBACC will link to partners who have made an investment in the CBACC. The CBACC will also link to affiliates that provide partners with a service through their chamber membership. Beyond this, the CBACC does not monitor or control information accessible through the Internet and is not responsible for its content, for changes in content of the sources to which the CBACC home pages link, or for the content of sources accessible through secondary links.
Access by Minors
Parents/Guardians should be aware there are some sites, which they might consider inappropriate for their children. It is the parents' right and responsibility to control the information their children access on the Internet. Parents or guardians, not the CBACC or its staff are responsible for the Internet information accessed by their children.
